Rockmount RanchWear
Tourism Star Award Recipient — 2007
LoDo’s oldest continually operated business has become its hippest. Through six decades, Rockmount Ranchwear has transformed Western Wear from utilitarian to urban chic. Today, celebrities such as Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan and Eric Clapton frequent the store, and everyone from Elvis to Ronald Reagan has worn Rockmount shirts. Jack Weil founded Rockmount in 1946, and he has been going to work each morning since. At age 106, he is the oldest CEO in America, and his status as the living legend who invented the snap-button western shirt has garnered significant international press.
The walls of the store of this three-generation family business are covered with press clippings and celebrity photos, and the institution Papa Jack created continues to attract visitors from around the globe.
